From Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina, this 100% Malbec is made from hand picked grapes which are macerated for 48 hours before a 15 day fermentation. The wine undergoes a natural malolactic fermentation before ageing in 60% French and 40% American oak for 8 months. The wine then gets a further 8 months of bottle ageing.
The result is a rich, deep red wine with violet tones and an intense nose of plum, raspberry, violets and vanilla. The palate is full, rich and smooth, reflecting the nose very well. Tannins are well balanced and rounded and there is a pleasant spice tinged, long finish.
Pair with BBQ, roasted meats, aged cheese and rich pasta dishes.
